FTA: "The page-turn patent was filed in December 2011, but was approved this week."

Right, apparently there was no such thing as a page turning more than a year ago.

...and people say the patent system isn't busted.

Jesus H. Christ, Apple's priorities really are completely and utterly f'ed up!!!

Actually Apple's priorities are correct. If Apple didn't patent it some other compony (most likely a patent troll) would and Apple would/could be sued and have to pay to use. Producing companies like Apple apply for patents as a defensive maneuver.

Actually NO ONE should be able to patent this.

Yes, thank God we will never be friends. Whew.
There is an old saying, "opinions are like a$$holes everyone has them"
I don't judge you for yours, don't judge me for mine.

Except your opinions are sad. You actually believe Apple should be able to patent a virtual page turn.

Whatever to each their own!

...and completely ignore that digital page turns have been in use for over 20 years now.

Just because Apple got theirs to work the way they like doesn't mean that they should be able to own them all.

I don't work for the patent office. I agree the process is messed up, but I have read about the UI process that Mike went through to get that page turn working, and I don't blame Apple for patenting it.

Thanks for your opinion. I don't have to defend my opinion to you.

Thank God you're a person I will never have to be friends with. You're a very sad person.

How does his comment have anything to do with him as a person? Basically you've asked for no reasons why he feels the way he does and have jumped to conclusions about him as a person. That makes absolutely no sense.

----------

I'm being sarcastic...but if I had a friend who agreed with this I'd bitch slap them haha.

Hahah

But keep in mind owning a patent doesn't mean you "must" sue people over them.

But come on with Apple's track record we all know they WILL start suing people.

Well to name but two...

1) lets sue everybody we possibly can, regardless

2) lets patent everything we possibly can, regardless

1. Conjecture. You have no idea about Apple's motives for the patent.

2. Patents are defensive moves primarily. Apple "did" lose 100 million dollars to Creative because of what seemed like relatively simple menu.

Apple doesn't have a track record of suing. The lawsuits are from recent years since the iPhone launch. Apple's been around longer than some of you have walked this Earth and they have not been a litigious company.

I'm talking about today's modern day Apple...not Apple of the 80's and 90's.

I'm sure they will take advantage of this patent.

Apple's page turning animation is incredibly realistic and really unique (in comparison to Google's lousy one). But this is ridiculous.
