apple pay and albertsons

anyone have any luck using apple pay at albertsons..they announced last week that they began accepting it, but yesterday when I tried to use it no luck. The cashier had never heard of it...find it really annoying when a company announces something, only failing to deliver..just curious what others experiences were. thanks!
 
I have been using it for about 3 weeks, even before they announced support.

Works great, and the cashiers weren't even aware of the ability. They are always surprised when I hold up the phone to the swiper.

i guess it's probably just my albertsons then...i tried again and nothing..next time i'll take a pic of the terminal...maybe they haven't updated to the new ones..
 
Seems like my local Albertsons has now disabled Apple Pay, or at least its operation is now in limbo. The last two times I have attempted to use it, the iPhone doesn't respond which makes me think the NFC module has been disabled. I also noticed that all of the terminals at the self-checkout stations have new silver tamper proof tape holding the terminal's top cover on, potentially indicating that they had been opened and modified. I've used Apple Pay at this Albertson's about 4 times a week and have never had a problem or seen that tape. Ugh!

I thought Albertsons had made an official statement in support of Apple Pay recently. Hopefully this is just a temporary shut-off and it will be back in operation soon, but it doesn't make sense why they would modify the terminals though.

Anyone else had a change in Apple Pay support at their local Albertsons?
 
I tried Apple Pay at the Albertson's by our house on 11/17 and it was declined. When I held the phone up to the terminal, the screen turned on, and it read my fingerprint, and it said Done and gave me the check mark. But then the cashier told me that the card wasn't accepted.

Haven't tried it since, so not sure if it would work now.

Sounds like the point of sale may have been too old to support Apple Pay, so it declined the transaction, which I have heard of happening at Office Max as well. So try it again and hopefully it should work, also Apple now lists them as "Coming soon" instead of by the end of the year. Lastly don't forget to check the Paypass locator: http://www.mastercard.us/cardholder-services/paypass-locator.html to see if your local Albertsons is on there.
