Wondering if someone thinks this may be possible.. I noticed that in iOS 8.1.2 the way to add new cards for Apple Pay was moved from Passbook to Settings -> Passbook. It seems when your region is set to United States this option is in Settings, but if you change it, it disappears. I also noticed that when you open Settings, it calls home to a 17.110.240.x IP on port 443.

My thinking is, it's probably checking to see if what ever region you have set is now accepting Apple Pay. I tried doing a man in the middle attack using Ettercap to see if I could figure out what it was transmitting to possible set up a perl script to check on that URL for newly available countries, but I can't seem to get that far.

Wondering if anyone with a bit more knowledge or fresh ideas can figure out exactly it's trying to send/receive.

Or maybe I'm just wasting my time :p
