I was only able to add AMEX. No dice on my Barclay's Bank Master Card (US Airways Miles); or on my TD Bank Debit Card. Said "your issuer does not yet offer support for this card."

My main VISA from Chase was not accepted. I thought any VISA/Master Card was going to work, and that bank participation only affected debit cards, but apparently not.

Chase worked fine here, as well as BofA. Chase required additional verification (by sending a security code via email, SMS or voice call), BofA did not.

Chase debit and credit card, BofA debit and credit cards, Amex cash credit card and Capitol one credit card all added no issues.

I was able to add amex plum business card. Some people said that business cards would not work but I can verify that you can add them

I got both my Chase cards and American Express cards to work.

The credit union did not. Discover also is not working.

I think I read somewhere that retailer specific cards don't work yet so that could be it.

It's not retailer specific in the sense of it being a store credit card -- it's just that you earn points that can be redeemed for Amazon gift certificates. In other ways it's identical to any other VISA.
