Simple question that I can't seem to find an answer to. Can Apple Pay be used without wrist detection being on?

I ask because I want to run with my watch over my jacket sleeve in the cold. This means I have to turn wrist detection off if I don’t want to unlock it every time I want to see my run time/pace. However, I’d still like to use Apple Pay if I need to make a stop on my run.

Wrist detection and passcode are two different things. If wrist detection is on (and detecting your wrist) you don't need the passcode (it keeps the watch unlocked). If the passcode is off then Apple pay is disabled.

Thanks, cruisin. I do know they are different options, but my googling has found no clear answer on what happens if wrist detection is off but passcode is on.

I think with wrist detect off you need to enter the passcode when you want to use applepay.
