Sorry if this is the wrong section for this but I recently bought the new 10.5 iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil. My question is the real world battery life on the Pencil. So when I bought the Pencil and paired it the battery read 68%. I used it for a couple of minutes, plugged it in to charge and on the battery in the widget dropped rapidly( from 68% to 22% in a couple seconds). After it stopped dropping it charged to 100% in a little bit so I thought everything was fine.
I took it to work the next day, used it for about 20-30 minutes in the notability app and the battery went from 100% to 80% (I checked and it was at 100 before I started). Is this normal use or might my battery be defective? The website claims 12 hours but I wasn't sure on actual usage.

Edit: Sorry should have mentioned I have tried un-pairing and pairing it again as well.
