Do anyone know how long should an Apple Pencil battery last? I got an used AP2 from eBay, and it works great, although when I put it in my bag, and don’t use it for a couple days, the battery drops to around 60%, so I wonder if it needs service or replacing it altogether. Just putting it back in its charging port brings the battery up to 100% in a few minutes, and I can use it continuously for several hours and won’t skip a beat, but I don’t want it to die on me one day without notice.

I might just get a new one to use it on my new iPad mini, but just wanted to ask about your own experience.

Batteries are notoriously crappy in those. Take it to an Apple Store or at least contact them about it.

Battery drain on the Apple Pencils is typical. It has to do with the way the Pencil attempts to stay connected to the device it is paired with. One method for extending the battery life (if you're not going to use the Pencil for a time) is to go into settings on the iPad and disconnect the Pencil.... then reconnect when you want to use it.

Ah, and it makes sense. Since I usually carry the pencil on a pen slot in my bag and not attached to the iPad all the time, but every time I look at the batteries widget, the pencil is there. So since it remains connected but not charging, it’ll deplete the battery. Thanks for the tip. Now I keep it on my iPad mini all the time.
