I honestly don't feel like it is as slippery as people are reporting. I haven't had it slip out of my fingers at all.

Very slippery, but good. It's personal preference, and very easy to mod.

gaffers tape, regular masking tape, or other non-residue tape (or any tape, but gunk gets tricky). Just wrap a small amount for thumb grip.

note: there are various mods to pens to change the grip. Many of them are really good. Also, gaffers tape is useful for a lot of things. Should be in everyones toolbox (just really high quality, non-reside, duct tape-sort of. They use it for performance productions to hold down cables/wires, etc, so it can't leave gunk as it may be pulled up after a few hours)

My Pencil arrived yesterday and I'm thinking about returning it, the surface is way too slippery for me too!

Yes the pencil is slippery, but it is so light that you do not loose grip and it slips out of your hand. How slippery the pencil is, is not an issue since it does not affect the way or your ability to use it effectively.

I can see how the Pencil is probably perfectly balanced for most average-sized people, but as a 93-pound woman with incredibly small hands, the slickness combined with its weight most definitely is an issue for me! At least there are a handful of us in this thread assuring me that I'm not the only one :p

I'm going to see if I can pick up a kids' pencil grip (or perhaps a couple of different ones) like the one linked above, though I do worry that some of the nice gel ones might be sized strictly for standard pencils and won't have enough stretch to accommodate the :apple: Pencil. I'll definitely report back if I should have any success with a particular configuration!

I'm still waiting for my Pencil, but I find it too slippery, I will just use some 220grid sandpaper, to give it a more wood texture and grip :)

Love my pencil...

I have really sweaty hands and i still don't think its any more slippery than any other pen i've used.

I'm quite sure people just moan for the hell of it.

Did you ever wind up picking up one of those grips we use to use in elementary school? Thinking of doing the same.

Why not do what most of us do, and take the quick & inexpensive route?

Just grab a pen that has a pen grip, slide off the grip, slide onto Apple Pencil. If you use the pencil regularly, especially if you draw, it is a comfort. If you are using a case that holds the pen it obviously won't work, but comfort holding the pen was paramount to me.

Thanks. Just used the grip on the pen you have below the pencil. Works great!
