Apple Pencil repair

I dropped the Apple Pencil on the tip and broke off the tip trying to replace it. There is a portion still inside as seen in the pic below. Is there a fix for this? I don't have Apple Care?

Grab the beige bit with pliers and unscrew it. Screw in your spare tip from the box. Bingo

I tried to get to the imbedded piece with tweezers but couldn't grab it.

No you need pliers to grip it so you can turn it counter clockwise.

It may be hard because it is small but you could try getting some krazy glue and a small screw or other solid object and glue it onto the broken tip. Then you can turn it with pliers or maybe just by hand

I actually tried this but to no avail...
I believe iFixit gave it a 1out 10 in reparability.

Is there a protective cap I can buy?
