I got a iPod mini sales presentation and in the file contents of the keynote presentation was a video file of spinning iPod minis into eachother. On the back of them all, there are is a printed box with 4gb written in it. This pretty much proves that apple will make a smaller capacity ipod and thus put the size on the back. Sorry for how blury it is.

Or maybe a larger capacity iPod mini? Or maybe they're just putting it there to be consistant with the current design of having the capicity printed on the back. I don't think this means anything.

But when the iPod came out, it was 5gb with no size printed on the back. When the 10 came out, it looked exactly the same except both now had the capacity on the back. I can't see how this couldn't be like that.
