I could call Apple about this, but figure this is easier and maybe helpful to other too. I always get AppleCare on almost everything, especially now that they cover damage on phones, even though my iPhones are mint and my iPad 1 is also, they all look out of the box. I am trying to save a few bucks by breaking up my order, so can I buy AppleCare plus within the 14 day period if I buy the iPad 3 from Apple? When I got my Iphone 4S from AT&T they were a pain about it, and I had to buy it the same day as purchase, of course the person was not so bright on rules, so didn't want to chance it. couple years ago I could buy care within 14 days, so I am checking if this is still true today.
thanks

from apple.com:

How to get AppleCare+

Add it to your shopping cart during the checkout process when you purchase your new iPad.
Or buy it within 30 days of your iPad purchase:
At an Apple Retail Store (requires a Genius Bar appointment, inspection of the iPad, and proof of purchase).
By calling 1-800-275-2273 (requires proof of purchase).
