Is it just me or has Apple’s podcast app just gone down the drain with IOS13/WatchOS?

It completely hopeless in syncing episodes from phone to watch - Only happens a one or two times and then it requires a force quit of the app/reboot of the watch to continue to sync again.

- It also has lots and lots of weird problems with statesync of now listening to and from the phone
- It has huge problems with 30sec skip sometimes taking forever, with it playing 10 - 15 ahead with no audio before it returns.
- It also fails in finishing podcasts properly - even though it‘s gone to 0:00 it’s not marked finished

I never really liked their app, but I have gotten used to it, and in IOS 12.4 it was fairly reliable - also in syncing with the watch.

I would really hate to be forced into using overcast as the apple watch podcast app is just far more integrated into to watch features, and I have so far never had a third party watch app that was reliable in the background and one where the complications actually updated as expected.

Im on the latest IOS version (13.1.2)

Yeah its pretty bad....... Syncing is rough, I even use it as just a remote to play from my phone and the watch showing the podcasts on my iphone is messed up.... Play a podcast for about 10 mins and stop it and the podcast is removed from the playlist..? While still being on the iPhone?

I really want to use the Apple Podcast as I prefer the interface on the iPhone and Apple Watch to Overcast but Overcast works and Apple Podcast is very unpredictable.
