I want to purchase an iPhone at full price with no contract but at the summary, I'm seeing a two year commitment with a 1 time upgrade free. Not sure what I'm missing if I'm paying for the phone outright? I assumed if you paid for the phone in full, you wouldn't be bound to renew to a new two years?

I understand I'm still in my contract for my iPhone 5s which is fine, but I'm buying a phone at full price, why would I have to re-sign a new 2 year agreement? Can't I just fulfill my current two year agreement whilst buying another phone outright?

Sorry, new to all this but this seems crazy.

That doesn't seem right to me either. You're paying full price, so there should be no upgrade fee and no contract extension.

Edit: rumor is that the T-mo, contract-free version from Apple is unlocked. You could maybe go that route?
