According to this guy: http://www.appdated.de/2011/09/telekom-apple-media-event-schon-morgen-iphone-5-vorstellung/

He reckons Apple will hold a press conference tomorrow to announce the date of the iPhone 5 launch event, from his super reliable source ;) from a german carrier.

The updates are actually quite funny. First it's that they are launching the iPhone 5 tomorrow, then it's no they aren't it's an event for something else, then yes it's a press event to announce the launch date.

Lots of good information here, especially for those few of us who do not read German.

German translation from Google:

We have previously reported on the rumor that Apple media event on its 07th September is abhaltet. But now the first concrete information from a German providers have emerged.

Because I only just got leaked a tip that Telekom is said to have learned that the Apple media event takes place tomorrow. This information has gotten tipster leaked directly from an employee by phone. It is the telecom learned only this morning that the Apple press conference for tomorrow, 7 September was recognized. The friendly staff Telekom has even overtaken, by request, the confirmation of his key so that Access Manager and verified the above date again.

The question is, Apple informed until the day before the press and the mobile operator? I do not trust the testimony of the Telecom employee and not really suspect that the person who has passed only a rumor. What do you think?

Update:
Also from a second source of telecom has been confirmed that Apple will hold a press conference tomorrow. But is currently unsure as to whether Apple will also be presenting the new iPhone. According to the second source, the iPhone 5 during tomorrow's press conference will not be presented.

Update 2:
My conclusion on the hints of the telecom employees, is that Apple will hold a press conference tomorrow and then announce the official date for the Apple Media Event will be. This, in my opinion the only logical conclusion.

Doesn't seem reliable.

Invitations will go out 1-2 weeks before the conference. So far, to the best of everyone's knowledge, they haven't.

There won't be a press conference tomorrow.

Usually Apple sends out invites to their events prior to them having it

hopefully we get that date soon

Apple doesn't do press conferences for these. They just send the invites out.

14:30 German time is 8:30AM which has now passed by an hour...

It said 8:30PM via translate though..

Haha I just started learning German and I tried reading this article. Let's just say that I needed a bit of help from our friend google ;)

As for the 7 September invite date, this has been my guess for the past two weeks. Not based off rumours or sources, just a gut feeling. We'll find out in about two hours or so if I am right.

All the invites I remember seeing showed up around 1pm EST, according to past engadget articles.
