Apple Pro Speakers + Griffin iFire + 10.5.6

Dear friends bought and old Apple Pro Speakers, and I
bought too the Griffin iFire to convert the spetial audio
plug of the Pro Speakers to the
headphones of my Mac Mini 1.8Mhz under Leopard
10.5.6

The first time that I connect they work, but after
reboot they do not work any more. The iFire do not
come whith any install app.

When I run System profiler it see an firewire device (the iFire)
but it says Unknown Device:

What can I do?
Help me please
