I've heard a lot of people say on this forum for iPhones, iPads and iPods that they can tell whether their warranty replaced iOS device is a refurbished or not from the serial number but I don't think you can.

My theory, based on what ive read here and what Apple store staff say, is that unless its a very new product which has only just been released, the vast majority of iOS product replacements are remanufactured (I.e. any faults are fixed, new casing, new battery etc). And you can't tell by serial number whether its a remanufactured or not.
