My workplace has decommissioned 2013/2014 Apple products -- MacBooks, iPhones, iPads -- offering to sell them to employees. Our IT person sold me some of these products, but he accidentally sent their information, including the serial numbers, to the wrong email address of someone we don't know who does not work within our company. Does sharing the serial numbers for Apple products open up users to risks of hacking? I know that a serial number can be used to help locate a stolen iPhone or MacBook; can this information also be used to hack into someone's MacBook/iPhone/iPad?

Thank you.

But even having MAC address, he must work for MI6 to be able to locate the laptop.
