Here is an interesting article about Apple entering the digital projector market. I was actually thinking about buying one of these.. maybe I'll wait a little longer to see what happens.

Read it here: http://www.osopinion.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1456

As much as I wish Apple would do this, I have some doubts.

Sure, if they could bring out a high quality and relatively well priced projector there would be a lot of interested Apple customers. But can they really compete in this market???

IF they couple a projector with other wireless hub solutions then I think they might be onto something. If the projector was also an Airport Extreme then such a hybrid would present a very cool gizmo. Powerpoints/keynotes could be broadcast to watchers as well as viewed off the projector. Cool. I dont know if 54mbits cuts it with SDTV but if it did then that would be a sweet way of watching vids, playing games and actually doing some work from time to time. If its highly portable (like so many new ones are) then maybe they will have something...

That's actually a brilliant idea! They can also have it stream itunes music to a stereo system... this is reminding me of the old "ibox" rumor.
