Apple Care fixed my laptop and they put a new LCD in it, because the old one had blotchy areas. As I want to sell the laptop (got new MBP from work a few weeks ago) I wonder if the new one is LED backlight or not. It's definitely super bright, but since the old one was 2.5 years old and they fade, I can't tell if it's like the original one was when I bought it, or better. Is there a clear way to find out, apart from the rather subjective test of seeing if it's at full brightness instantly? The "Parts used" list just specifies that

646-0314 DSPL, 15.4", WXGA++, AG, CHIMEI, M1

There's no further useful information under "About this Mac: Graphics/Displays"

Thanks for any suggestions.

Doubtful. I don't think the LED-backlit screens are compatible with older MBPs.

System Preferences -> Displays -> Color Tab -> Open Profile Button -> Highlight line 13 MMOD in the list box and it will display the panel manufacturer and model code below.

then someone who knows what the model codes mean can tell you exactly what kind of panel you have :)

Highly unlikely to be LED since connectors would be incompatible
