As someone who uses OneNote for everything, I’d be so happy to get away from Microsoft and use an Apple Notes but instead they left it in the dust. They could’ve turned it into a real competitor against OneNote. What I like about Notes is the natural and smooth pencil strokes while onenote looks very fake and harsh. That’s about it though. I’d love it to turn into a real notebook with similar features and even more than OneNote has. It’s weird because the new features that Pages got over the last year are actually fitted for Notes, NOT Pages! At this point they might as well delete Notes since they forgot all about it and put their focus solidly into Pages.

Quite well publicised was the fact that iOS 12 would be light on new features and app improvements, instead putting a lot of focus into performance and stability.

In iOS 11 they added some nifty features, such as (I think) document scanning, tables and handwriting recognition. I am sure they will add some new features in future and haven’t left it in the dust for good.
