Odd Spot

I can't believe what TBWAs graphic designers did to Apples Logo at the end. Snow on it (demaging the iconic shape) and Infront of it (punching holes through it). And white SNOW infront of white BG...
I always thought it was politically incorrect for US Companies (due to the multi-religious aspect of the USA) to call Christmas "Christmas", so they always said "Holiday Season" instead of Christmas.

politically correct my ass.

companies just starting doing that because they are scared.

I actually am loving apple for how they are talking about christmas, from that free itunes holiday sampler on itunes that has all christmas songs to this ad.

if you are picky.. a company can have ads and stuff on christmas, and then you can do stuff for Hanukkah and if you must, 3 kings day. There are no other holidays at the end of December unless you belong to a fake religion.

Pretty nice ad!

Shame they couldn't have gotten someone who could sing better..

I loved this commercial! and in regards to political correctness think of it this way. ≈75% of people in the US are christian. If Apple made a "Politically correct" the 75% of the country would be like "MEH" but however since Apple made an ad for Christmas the naive christians among us would be like "I'm glad Apple isn't going with all this political correct stuff". Apple marketing is truly ingenious!

The first eleven days of Christmas were ho-hum. That app that can light your tree was AWESOME! Research shows me it requires a monthly fee. No thanks.

quite true - most companies and school districts have really no idea about the laws regarding the Christmas season and some have gone so far to try and legally "protect" themselves as to break laws doing so.

the US government declares a national holiday on December 25 and it is officially labeled "Christmas" in all official documentation.

the last App

I see that mattwolfmatt and leandromp are interested in the last app that turned on the tree. I have been doing a little research on it myself and found that it can control more than your Xmas tree lights. Their site says that it can control your thermostat, lock and unlock your doors and allow you to live stream your security cameras from your phone.

Yeah it does have a monthly fee but I have seen a huge movement across the web asking them to have a lifetime membership or free six month trial.

What would you guys say to that?

even if Iam a bit late, this was the first time I saw it, I really like it :) kind of clitchy in some way
