Apple today released a new version of the Magic Keyboard for iPad Air in black.

Previously, the Magic Keyboard for iPad Air was only available in white. It is based on the older Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro and iPad Air, which was available in both black and white, and was replaced by a redesigned version with a aluminum top case, backlighting, and a trackpad with haptic feedback last year.

The Magic Keyboard for iPad Air continues to be priced at $269 for the 11-inch version and $319 for the 13-inch version.

I certainly would have bought the Black color over White had it been available when the current Air was released. My White keyboard is noticeably scratched and stained at this point.

Good to see the additional option and also happy to see that there is no price increase.

My old Magic Keyboard for my M2 iPad Air is backlit and continues to work just fine. I do not understand the lack of backlighting on the latest version - certainly not at the price being asked.

I've got the magic keyboard for the Rev5 iPad Air and it is the best keyboard ever. It is black, btw. It is so perfect I fear to upgrade my iPad because ... it could only be worse. Plus, another $169 ... oops, $269! ... so, too bad, Tim Apple.🍸😼

£299 for a keyboard that isn’t even backlit. Yeah no thanks. But also I really want one 😂
