Dang, you guys are quick, just got the update. We will see, but I haven't seen any issues with connectivity.

I hope that means I don't have to wait as long when accessing the :apple:TV.

The initial lag is annoying. :apple:TV v1 was so zippy...

Heres to hoping this addresses the issues with the soon to be released AppleTV :) Seems those rumors have dropped off some though...

Odd, I didn't input any password during install. Or maybe I just need some sleep, and don't remember entering it on automatic.

"Your software is up to date. Software Update doesn't have any new software for your computer at this time."

Oh, I hope this helps. Apple TV has been basically useless recently as it never stays connected. Unplug, reboot, close itunes, etc etc etc. Total PITA to do anything. (crosses fingers)

And what about the Bootcamp/Windows 7 update that was promised before the end of the year?!?

You can't be serious... That was discussed previously... For the rest of us, however, this will be a welcome improvement.

I have two AppleTV's and love them enough to nearly get rid of cable altogether (damn showtime and 'Dexter').

The only flaw is when it's having a 'bad day' and I have to reset everything after whatever video file finishes playing.

Glad they are still polishing this 'hobby'!

I have lol! Major hanging when syncing to Apple TV with all my ripped DVDs etc. Hopefully this cleans it up!

Average experience since 3.0

Page over to 'My TV Shows' click and wait 15 seconds. Select Episode to play wait 1 minute. Episode plays for 2 seconds. Wait 1 minute. Sound only for 1 more minute. Stutters twice then plays without issue.

This update hasn't changed my experience!

this update seems to be for Intel mac only, as there is no update available on my PowerPC mac mini.

that sounds like you have an issue with your appletv and/or network rather than bonjour. i would recommend you factory restore your appletv and start from scratch.

Before you do that, check your network - I assume it's wireless?

I had similar problems, and it turned out my neighbours had just installed wireless too, and it was clashing with the channel of mine! Altering the channel in the Airport Base Station solved the problems immediately.

Have a play with a few channels, and see if surfing the web is slow from the same room - that was the other symptom I noticed.

If the network connection is OK, then 'chenks' suggestion is the next best thing to try - but re-syncing over a broken network is no fun, so rule that out first!

And I thought I was the only one......

I quit trying to stream altogether and started syncing. I actually thought I had an issue with my ATV when I had to constantly reboot it, but it's been fine since syncing. It's fine (not acceptable, but fine) when I'm dealing with the issue, but you try explaining to a 4 year old the process to watch Ice Age is 'change channels, trace the cord from this white box, unplug and plug back in, wait 1 minute, blah, blah'.

HOPEFULLY this corrects the problem.

You can also try restarting the AppleTV by holding down the menu button and then down (-) button for about 5 seconds. Won't reboot from a hard lock but can sometimes achieve the same effect as unplugging it.

Handy tip! Thanks!

I had the same problem. I found on another board that the issue has to due with a recent update of AirPort to 7.4.1. I rolled back to 7.3.1 and have had no further issues.

Fixed my AppleTV syncing

Phew, all back to normal, no more manual intervention to sync ATV when iTunes library updated.
