Apple today released Boot Camp Software Update 3.3 for Windows, an update to the company's software to enable Intel-based Macs to natively run Windows operating systems.
About Boot Camp Software Update 3.3 for Windows

The Boot Camp 3.3 update includes critical bug fixes and hardware support. It is recommended for all Boot Camp 3.2 users.
The update weighs in at 199.75 MB and requires Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit) and an existing installation of Boot Camp 3.2.

I wonder if there are new video drivers for the latest iMacs? I'll have to update once I get home...

Windows? What's that?

Why do I always need a treasure map to find these release notes? Anyone find the 3.3 release notes? I'm interested in seeing what's been fixed...

Bootcamp 3.3 won't install BC 3.2

I'm running WinXP 32-Bit SP3 on a Mac Mini 2010. I downloaded Bootcamp 3.3 and when I run BC 3.3 it the program doesn't do anything. I did upgrade my MM from Snow Leopard 10.6 to Lion 10.7 if that makes a difference.

Never mind. I just found out 3.3 is for win7 only.

Does this fix the Lion-Bootcamp error where you can't reinstall or restore because it ****s with the recovery partition?

XP is 10 years old. Let it go, move on.

Microsoft actually support their products for much longer than Apple. Which results in continued developer support. Windows XP can be as old as it wishes, people will still use it as long as it is in support. And people will probably continue to use it after as well.

Not everyone can see the need or has the money to buy a new computer every 3 years like Apple want.

Factoid: XP was RTM on this day, 10 years ago.

we know - but my company and many other major corporations still use it as a so-called "legacy" enterprise os (i always thought "legacy" was a idiotic term anyways)
2 of 3 of my home computers still run xp pro - it just works

It's an OS with PLENTY of games to play with?

OS which HAD been notorious for virus but has been getting better now?

I'm a Mac user, but respect Windows for what it has today. Unlike some user  .. and at the moment, Windows7 runs cooler than Lion on my Mac .. speaking of irony, huh?

I just run income tax efiling programs

Many of these programs are still at a MSDOS level of OS requirement. Given that XP should do for a few more years now. If I did something that needed more power then I would think about Windows7. One of my copies of XP Pro came with my Virtual PC program. The other copy I got at school for $10. Unless I go back to school I'd have to spend more than it is worth to me.

In some ways saying that Windows 7 is better than Lion is not saying much. I've been running Lion a lot of the time now. So far I am not very impressed. Looking at the disk usage graphs in the About This Mac menu choice, the iOS looks even though nice at what it is doing here, is really not ground breaking item but only shows that Mac OS 10.7 Lion may actually been dumbed done to the iOS level.

How come? I had XP bootcamped and upgraded to Lion. It's still there.

Get them off nvidia/ati.

Does it fix the lion and bootcamp problem where bootcamp was no longer working after lion install?

4.0 is the version of Boot Camp assistant that runs in Lion.

3.3 is the version of Boot Camp that runs in Windows 7.

They're 2 completely different programs.

Right but if you download Boot Camp from the Boot Camp assistant in lion then you'll have Boot Camp 4.0 in Windows.

I believe it's for users with Snow Leopard and are on Boot Camp 3.2 still. I've just tried installing it over Boot Camp 4.0 and it says that it's not required.

Right. Boot Camp Assistant in OSX will match that of it's counterpart in Windows.
