Apple today released Canon Printer Drivers 2.3 for Mac OS X v10.6, an updated package of drivers for users of Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Canon printers and multifunction devices.

The update weighs in at 281.16 MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.1 or later. Full details of driver support for various Canon devices are available in Apple's associated support document.

Update: While Apple's download page still lists the version as 2.2, the actual download indicates that 2.3 is now the latest version of the Canon drivers.

Update 2: Apple has corrected the download page to refer to the proper version (2.3) of the drivers.

I wish I could get the HP Ink Widget to work? Printer Drivers are nice but My Printer worked just fine prior to these new drivers.

I really want my Lil Widget back :(

Whats the different between these drivers and the latest and greatest that are available on the Canon website?

Hello.

Software Update got me a 26MB update correctly labeled Canon Printer Update 2.3 for my ip4500.

Apparently the size of the download varies.

Have Fun,
Keri

And have they done this for HP yet? Got a 5850 wi-fi printer that according to HP's site is no longer supported for drivers.

Shame :( - it is a great printer under OS 10.5, but I need to get a new MacBook soon, and I want double sided printing!

I don't think there's a difference. I think this is simply a package with a bunch of drivers like how Windows does so that when you plug in a Canon printer the driver is there instead of having to install the individual drivers from the website or CD that comes with the printer.

How many Apple employees will be fired and immediately escorted off the property for getting the version number wrong?
