Apple has released a couple of updates for the new iMac and recent MacBook Pros that offer various fixes, but seem to be particularly focused on Thunderbolt fixes and enhancements.

- Mac OS X v10.6.7 Supplemental Update for iMac (Early 2011)
- iMac EFI Update
- MacBook Pro EFI Update 2.1
- MacBook Pro Software Update 1.4

The 10.6.7 iMac update for the just-released 2011 iMacs offer additional fixes to Back to My Mac, SMB Servers, Mac App Store fixes, FaceTime performance improvements and external display compatibility. All updates should be available in your Software Update or via the direct links above.

It should be noted that the EFI update will not appear in the Software Update app until the "Software Update"update is installed.

Success!

These updates finally fixed the display issues with my 2011 MacBook Pro that the 10.6.7 update did not. :)

Are these for any Macbook Pro? I'm wondering why some updates like these don't show up through software update? Who would find out about them if they don't read Mac sites?

Surprised they're rolling out Thunderbolt updates and fixes to the general public when there's no TB device you can buy just yet.

Check your Software Update, i do believe these are for 2011 MacBook Pros as the 2011 MBP 15" software update has the updates listed for the MBPs
Im assuming it is because of the Thunderbolt port itself too.

The iMac has been out for a couple of days and already there's an update for it?!?!?!?!

Well it shipped with a special 10.6.6 build so I'm presuming this update will resolve those problems with running applications that require 10.6.7 (Steam/Potal2, etc) and issues with using Target Display Mode where you cannot hook up peripherals such as consoles and use TDM or other non-Thunderbolt systems (MacBook Air, Mac Pro, etc) in TDM.

Too bad these updates can't be installed on Lion. I haven't really had any issues so far anyways. :p

Yeah, they should have waited for the market to become saturated with ThunderBolt devices, therefore allowing them to experience problems, and then released the update.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5)

It's good that apple are working on the problems!

If you don't want the update, don't update!

Will try this!

I have had problems with my early 2011 MacBook Pro 15" that resulted in the computer freezing up when connecting it to my 2010 27" cinema display. It happens maybe 1 out of 7 times.

Also I have had the external display flickering issues with my girl friend's 50" Philips TV. I will try this update out tonight or tomorrow when I am at her place.

Hopefully both of these problems are now a thing of the past. :)

Yes! Fina-freaking-lly!!!

If it actually does fix those issues that is.

Anyone else notice a significant drop in temperatures?

Since I installed both of today's updates on my MBP 15" 2.2GHz 2011, the idle temperature of the CPU has dropped significantly, from around 46 to 48 down to 33 to 35 °C!

All other temperatures are down, too - probably as a consequence of the decreased CPU temp.

I like this update already.

Can you please check system profile and see the link speed for the CD/DVD SATA Port?
