Apple Releases iPhoto 7.1.3

Apple has released an update to iPhoto through your Mac OS X Software Update, or through their support site. The 16.9MB update "addresses issues with wire-bound books and cards."

Seems a bit of a lame update, must have been an issue for some people but :apple: typically don't go into detail what the issue it.

iPhoto must not be due an update for some time, otherwise this could have waited.

I love that they issue an update that supposedly deals with issues with physical objects. I know what they meant, but it's still at least a vaguely humorous wording.

They seem to release minor updates every month or so as needed. This is the 5th update in 6 months (7.0.2, 7.1, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 7.1.3).

Well, I'm ranting again about Apple products not feeling just quite finished...

What I really need is the possibility to group my events under categories or, at least, create 'sub-event' or something of the sort.

I have about 9000 pictures (and counting) neatly organized in folders and sub folders, together with grouping into events already. I don't like that when I import them into iPhoto it creates an event for each folder I have... That's 12s of events! And using keywords and stuff is not the same as browsing, is it?

Aperture provides that, but it's $200 and not as nice looking for a basic user (I don't consider myself a pro, far from it).
As an example: I have photos of all the houses where I lived. So I have a folder called 'Houses' and within it sub folders called say House 1, House 2, House 3... Inside each house, I have folders for each room, say bedroom, living room... Importing that into iPhoto makes no sense since it creates an 'event' for something that is not close to an event: it's a room!

Maybe someone else has had that frustration and could offer advice until Apple offers a better iPhoto?

And don't get me started on iMovie, the lack of Mpeg2 and AC3 support in QT, iWork not supporting RTL languages (ever tried to edit a Hebrew document?) and now the remote being optional???

No photos selected

I found an issue when ordering prints with no photos selected, iphoto just hangs. I wonder if I had something to do with this update....

EDIT: No - it still hangs!
