Apple Releases macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 Beta With Security Fixes

Apple today released a new beta of macOS Tahoe 26.6.2, which is available to developers and public beta testers. The macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 beta comes just a few days after Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, a security update.

Developers and public beta testers can download the software by opening the System Settings app and then navigating to the Software Updates section.

According to Apple's release notes, macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 includes security fixes for the Mac.

The prior update, macOS 26.6.1, fixed a vulnerability that could allow an attacker to authenticate to Screen Sharing without valid credentials.

Update: This article previously said macOS 26.6.2 had been released, but it turns out the update is a beta.

We will be in this mode for months (maybe years for some problems that will require re-architecting)

If you think it's frustrating for us, imagine what it is like (frustrating plus terrifying) for the people inside Apple, MS and Google (and even IBM, I imagine Z and AS are also getting on-going 24/7 security scans by AI).

Not-so-Private Relay still not so private. https://leaks.psylo.app/ still shows my ip for WebAuthn. WebTransport is hiding my ip so maybe partially fixed?

WebTransport is showing my ip on iOS beta 26.6.1, so maybe the WebTransport leak was always only on iOS?

non-release candidate betas have a letter at the end like 25G82a, 25G82b, 25G82c, ...

but this doesn't

so it's an rc

Imagine the rubbish they have been releasing for the last decade and a half if now they run Claude and we get 200 bug fixes once a week.

It’s just shining a spotlight on the incompetence of the software team in my opinion
