Apple unveiled its new TechWoven cases for iPhone 17 during yesterday's "Awe dropping" event, but the company hasn't completely abandoned FineWoven.

In fact, the material is still very much part of Apple's lineup, with a new collection of FineWoven MagSafe wallets and AirTag key rings designed to pair with the latest iPhone models and available in multiple colors, including Fox Orange, Midnight Purple, Navy, Moss, and Black.

The new wallets are available for $59, while the new AirTag key rings cost $35.

Apple discontinued its ill-received FineWoven cases for iPhones in 2024. FineWoven was heavily criticized for its poor performance in comparison to the former leather cases that Apple used to offer. Apple replaced leather in 2023 in order to be more environmentally friendly, but people quickly found that the FineWoven cases were quick to get dirty and began to fray.

I have a Black/Midnight (not sure) FineWoven wallet, and overall I think it’s alright, but unfortunately the color rubs off on lighter cases. I have a yellow Apple silicone case and one from Nomad, and both have slight but visible dark stains where the wallet sits. I tried to remove them, but it’s not possible without scrubbing off the material.

I feel like there is still a lot more room for innovation in the magsafe space than wallets, stands and batteries. Something you can use to put yale keys into would be a game-changer for nights-out.

Not sure how good this will be. Have to check it out in a store before I even consider buying this. Not very impressed with the colors.

Meanwhile, Australians pay silly prices. Here's the crossbody strap...

Im trying to decide on the best color combination for the iPhone 17 Pro/Max with a case and wallet. At first, I thought I preferred an all-black setup bot thats not avaible , but now I’m not sure what would look best. I’m considering either a woven or silicone case, as long as the overall look is stylish. It’s hard to judge from the pictures online, so I’d love to hear your favorite recommendations. Also light color tend to get dirty after a while.

I've never understood why people buy them.. The wallet always falls off whenever I'm taking the iPhone out of my pocket. There are easier ways to lose your cards and money.

if 'changing the game' is 'oh no I've lost my keys and can't get in because my designed to be easily removed 'magsafe' key holder has gotten lost, then sure, I guess it would be a game changer.

So do these colors match the new TechWoven skins? Wasn't there a page previously where you could virtually "try on" combos of phones/cases/wallets to see how they'd look? Does that still exist anywhere?

Really - have used them from the beginning and my Apple Magsafe leather wallet is still going strong. I would never go back to a normal wallet. Funny, as mine rarely falls off when taking out of my wallet and if it does, don’t really care, as you would know.

I’ve had a MagSafe wallet for 4 years and it has never once feel off my phone accidentally even pulling it in and out of my pocket. Are you using a MagSafe case with your phone?

Watch bands are where I most miss leather. I’ve said this here before, but Apple had crazy-nice leather watch bands, and now there is nothing like those on the market. The absence of Apple leather bands has turned me off of buying a new Apple Watch for two generations now. I really wish Apple would reconsider their position on this.

I don’t get how not using leather is saving the environment, they are still killing cows for meat wouldn't it be better to use every part of the animal and actually make a decent product

I miss the leather loop. The leather link was not a great replacement and the finewoven version of it isn't much better.
