Apple today released new firmware updates for all AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2 models. The new firmware is version 7E93, up from the 7B21 firmware that was installed on the AirPods Pro 2 and the 7B20 firmware available on the AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with ANC.

It is not immediately clear what new features or changes are included in the new firmware, but we'll update this article should we find out. Apple has been beta testing the updated firmware since late January.

Firmware updates can be installed by putting the AirPods in Bluetooth range of an iPhone, iPad, or Mac that's connected to Wi-Fi, and then plugging them in to charge. It can take up to 30 minutes for firmware to update.

You can check your firmware version by going to Settings > Bluetooth and selecting the Info button next to the AirPods Pro when they are connected to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

I swear, with each firmware update, my AirPods Pro 2 have gotten worse and worse. They stop connecting to my phone, so I have to restart my phone for them to connect, etc. Lots of small bugs make them so inconvenient to use. I used to love them when I first got them, but now I’ve started looking around for a better product.

What about AirPods Max??? Wtf Apple.
They updated this one too! 7E99 is new. MacRumors just didn't notice...
[Edit] Just noticed that you already noticed.
I have a thread in the AirPods subforum, going to be trying out the USB audio function as soon as I can get my headset to update.

What about the Lightning? They seemed to update the Lightning Pros…hm

1. Finally, mine updated proving they are genuine (from eBay)
2. Fixed my Find My issue, where the AirPods displayed as not setup (i removed from Find My, my iPhone and then reset the AirPods - annoying as all this time it was a bug).

ANC is basically nonexistent for a while now, thought this update would improve it but it does not.
Have you tried different set of tips? Cause that sounds wild, for me with the right set of tips I leave always the noise mode to just “off” nor anc nor transparency and I can’t hear anything just purely the passive-noise-cancellation does the job so try to find the best fit possible.

Yes I have. I also did the Ear Tip Test, and the tips I use came back as a perfect fit.

This is not true , firmware was not released as apple webpage still state 7b21 … get a grip !

Plugging them directly to any of the devices after using them a bit does it for me everytime.
