Apple today released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser Apple first introduced more than a year ago in March of 2016. Apple designed the Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be introduced into future release versions of Safari.

Safari Technology Preview release 44 includes bug fixes and feature improvements for Image Bitmap, Web API, CSS, Rendering, web Inspector, Web Driver, Media, CSS Grid, Security, and Extensions. Today's update also adds Conic Gradients and enables the Payment Request feature by default.

With Safari 11 now available in macOS High Sierra, Apple is providing two versions of Safari Technology Preview, one for macOS Sierra users and one for those using macOS High Sierra.

The Safari Technology Preview update is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store to anyone who has downloaded the browser. Full release notes for the update are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.

Apple's aim with Safari Technology Preview is to gather feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. Safari Technology Preview can run side-by-side with the existing Safari browser and while designed for developers, it does not require a developer account to download.

One gripe that I have with safari for the recent past is that if you try to add a bookmark with the same web address as one that is already in your bookmark list, Safari deletes the existing bookmark without warning.

We keep bookmarks for each of the login pages of each of our different accounts and use the bookmark to store short notes about those accounts, eg if we have two gmail accounts, we would have a bookmark for 1@gmail and 2@gmail.

Problem now is that if I add a 3rd gmail bookmark, Safari would delete 2@g and all it’s notes w/o warning.

My above method is helpful for quick & easy online management of accounts like changing a credit card, address, phone number, etc.

Let me guess, still no 4k for YouTube? Well, still no Safari for me ...

Works fine. You have to enable autoplay for media on Netflix in Safari.

Go to "Safari" > "Settings for Website" (I don't know exactly how this is called in english-Os X) > enable autoplay "for all types of media".

The bigger question is... Why should his solution even be necessary? :(

ServiceWorker still reports as unsupported even tho there is UI to turn it on :(

Lol yea that's a good one, it's like they throw in half baked features and release it. Must be having great results on their end I guess.. worthless for devs though.
