Apple today released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser Apple first introduced more than a year ago in March of 2016. Apple designed the Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be introduced into future release versions of Safari.

Safari Technology Preview release 46 includes bug fixes and feature improvements for Security UI, Privacy, CSS, Rendering, Storage Access API, Web Inspector, Web Assembly, Web Driver, JavaScript, Media, and WebRTC. Today's update also enables Service Workers by default and makes several Service Workers tweaks and improvements.

The Safari Technology Preview update is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store to anyone who has downloaded the browser. Full release notes for the update are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.

Apple's aim with Safari Technology Preview is to gather feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. Safari Technology Preview can run side-by-side with the existing Safari browser and while designed for developers, it does not require a developer account to download.

464 out of 555, all experimental features enabled.

Others have had higher scores than me on previous versions with the same features enabled, no idea why.

Getting 479 on my 2011 13inch MacBook Pro, same as last release. Not sure why you are having the lower number either, though I did get 464 last time before I toggled on all Experimental Features.

Edit: The only way I get your score of 464 is if I toggle ServiceWorkers and WebGL 2.0 off.

Yep, it seems like those settings, despite being ticked are not functioning for me. Unticking and reticking doesn't fix it.

Deleting all my STP caches, etc. across macOS and reinstalling STP doesn't fix it either. Always 464 with everything enabled.

Weird. Must be some other setting somewhere.

Any browser extensions that might be interfering?

I updated the app, and it self deleted itself, not sure what happened, did the update and tried to launch safari tech preview, nope not on this mac, a reboot, nada, did download-re-install, all bookmarks, and pages open before the update that were open, opened, as if nothing had happened...strange

The continued incompatibility with some Facebook features troubles me. Is Apple expecting Facebook to change for them to fix it?

As in the inability to edit posts, dragging pics. You have to reload the page frequently to accomplish anything.

I realize it's a technology preview, but if it's not fully compatible with Facebook, well that is a problem. :(

[doublepost=1513959926][/doublepost]I've got STP installed and I'm getting notifications that updates are available but I don't see the update in the Mac App Store app. Anybody else see this?

Maybe because I migrated from an old Mac the other day?

Hmm. The only feature on Facebook which is not working for me, is the video chat, and that has not worked on Safari for years now. Everything else seems to be working fine.

Maybe the problem is in the setting
