Apple today seeded the second beta of macOS Ventura 13.2 to its public beta testing group, letting the general public try out the new features ahead of the software's release. The public beta comes one day after Apple provided the beta to developers and nearly a month after the first public beta.

Public beta testers can download the macOS 13.2 Ventura update from the Software Update section of the System Preferences app after installing the proper profile from Apple's beta software website.

macOS Ventura 13.2 introduces support for protecting an Apple ID with a physical security key, such as a Yubikey. The physical security key is used for two-factor authentication when signing into your Apple ID on a new device, on iCloud, or on other Apple websites, and it replaces device codes.

Apple says that physical security keys offer an additional layer of protection for those who are concerned about their Apple IDs being accessed.

Did the WindowServer memory leak and out of control CPU usage on Apple Silicon get fixed?

Haven't seen that in awhile. The only thing I saw was an incompatibility with G-Hub latest version where the GUI is messed up. You can't install it due to some change, but if installed it still works, just not the apps GUI. I been using it otherwise on a 16" M1 Max MBP and M1 24" iMac. Safari updated to version 16.3 now.

Update the G-Hub just started working again on 4th reboot? Go Figure.

I've been having issues when using an external USB-C -> DisplayPort monitor. WindowServer would start at a reasonable amount of RAM and then balloon to 31GB while using something like 33% of the CPU.

This *only* happened when using an external monitor. No special color profiles were configured, just using the bone stock setup.

Is there anything new in this beta other than security keys? If not I'm not gonna bother and wait for the release version.

I am holding off my update/jump to macOS Ventura -- when is 13.2 probably going live/public?

Has been fixed since the first preview release of Ventura.

Sigh. Why do people think that their experience is the only possible experience?

Maybe it's been fixed *for you*. For me, and for many, it's not. I haven't been running beta since 13.1, but in 13.1 Windowserver still crashes with distressing frequency. No doubt it depends on what you're doing.

I'm still having the issue on both a 16" Intel MacBook Pro and a 16" M1 Max MacBook Pro :(

The Intel has an issue where if the computer goes to sleep and comes back it won't re-activate the monitor. The Apple Silicon machine also has an insane memory leak & wasted CPU cycles with WindowServer.

Not that I see. Using a 24" M1 iMac and 16" M1 Max MBP both running 13.2 beta 2.
