Apple today seeded the third beta of macOS Ventura 13.3 to its public beta testing group, letting the general public test out the features ahead of the software's release. The public beta comes one week after Apple provided the second public beta.

Public beta testers can download the macOS 13.3 Ventura update from the Software Update section of the System Preferences app after installing the proper profile from Apple's beta software website.

As with iOS 16.4, macOS Ventura 13.3 adds new emoji characters that include shaking head, pink heart, blue heart, gray heart, donkey, moose, black bird, goose, wing, jellyfish, hyacinth, pea pod, ginger, fan, comb, flute, maracas, left hand, and right hand.

The update supports updating to the new HomeKit architecture that Apple has reintroduced after the update was pulled from iOS 16.2. The Messages app also offers content previews for shared Mastodon links, and there are new options in Shortcuts for creating workflows that include Siri notification announcements.

Apple says that macOS Ventura 13.3 will be released in the spring, a timeline that ranges from March 20 to June 20.

Freezes when connected to an external display started after rapid security update 13.3. (a), and (b) didn't make any difference. Happens with both M1 and Intel.......

Haven’t had a single issue with macOS Ventura so far.

Do your external disks (HDs or SSDs) are performing at normal speed? One long thread of Ventura complains is about extremely slow disk access speeds. The other is about file sharing, most people complains about that serving files to others from a Ventura Mac is not working, it is unstable, or slow.

So, you don't have any of these nuisances?

When are they going to fix the Settings UI? It’s just sooo bad
Totally agree, it's among the worst I've ever seen. I just recently bought an M2 MacBook Air after being out of the Mac OS X realm for several years and I was surprised at how bad it is, because it's obvious they've made several great improvements. Ventura's Settings UI not even an expansion of older ones; it's reorganized in a random and arbitrary way.

Is the iBooks page flip animation preference is also available on the macOS?

Can't confirm this on my M2 Max 16" MBP, which is used as a desktop machine most of the time.
A "funny" thing was that I have two Mac's (M1 home and Intel at Office), both started freezing (I think it was when the Sleep was activated). Even during running Onyx M1 made this.

But! No freezes during the last 24h.

I wish it keeps being this way.

I don’t usually say much when it comes to macOS updates, but man, the Ventura Settings app is abysmal. They shouldn’t have tried to make it look like iOS. Everything is very small and hard to find.
As folks have pointed out, click View in menu bar, and get a drop-down of all options.

SMB Problems with Mac OS Ventura update from Apple: As a result of your feedback, there are changes in the latest update, build 22E5236f, that have resolved this issue.

Just installed today, coming from Monterey. I'm on a M1 MBA and feel it's noticeably more responsive and things load quicker. Scrolling in Safari feels like I'm actually using an Apple device again and finally the frame drops when using 3-finger scrolling through desktops and the pink glitching when scrolling through App exposé have been fixed. The only odd UI glitches I've seen have been if you have an app minimized in a different desktop and click on the icon in the dock, there's screen tearing as it switches desktops and the window goes to full size (genie effect). Also, I got the beachball of death for a full 15 seconds when adding the clock app to widgets... Settings app is also weirdly choppy when scrolling.

TLDR; The UI glitches that bothered me most have been fixed, with the introduction of some new obscure ones.

My Samsung T5 SSD seems to be working fine. Same with AirDrop.

So no?
