Apple today released tvOS 15.3, the third major update to the tvOS operating system that first launched in September 2021. tvOS 15.3 comes more than a month after the launch of tvOS 15.2, an update that added support for Photos Memories, Apple Music Voice Plan, and new screen savers.

tvOS 15.3 can be downloaded over the air on the Apple TV through the Settings app by going to System > Software Update. ‌‌‌‌Apple TV‌‌‌‌ owners who have automatic software updates enabled will be upgraded to tvOS 15.3 automatically.

Apple's tvOS updates are typically more minor in scale, focusing on under-the-hood bug fixes, performance updates, and small tweaks rather than major outward-facing changes. There were no new features discovered in tvOS 15.3 during the beta testing process, so it's not yet clear what's included in the update.

Apple does not provide detailed release notes for its tvOS updates, but the company does offer some tvOS information through the tvOS support document.

I wonder if we will ever see something noticeable change with these tvOS updates?

I'm all for bug fixes, but it would definitely be nice for Apple to do some tweaks and changes in aid of usability and overall 'niceness' on tvOS.

Don't get me wrong, tvOS seems the nicest place to relax – amongst the many options – when looking to be entertained, workout, view photos or listen to music & podcasts, but it would be good to know Apple are applying their focus here alongside more popular product lines. There's always room for improvement in software.

I like to see the tvOS have streaming stats without needing Xcode to unlock the developer menu. Also I see you can run a wifi speed test with a tvOS App now. see https://www.speedtest.net/apps/appletv

Is this documented as a problem for many people? Or is this a problem with your soundbar / TV
He has the exact same issue I am having as well as many others in the forums. Also occurs if you switch HDMI (example: change source from ATV to cable to ATV. Have had minimal incidents of this also happening when switching between apps. Sound also comes in and out for the menu home screen. First Apple device I have bought in over ten years and it's honestly a POS.

Any lossless audio pass through yet?
I’ve given up hope on lossless and turned my attention to AC-4 given its efficiency gains. Going to take some time and additional equipment unless they can do it over firmware. I‘m also keeping my hopes up for industry to bring forward DTS/DTS:X streaming. The ATV does ATMOS pretty well and it will get better (dialogue is still an issue). DTS is on so many titles and its a monster hole in the streaming delivery business.

I’d like them to fix the back bug that causes your position to get messed up as the selection jumps up and back to the left after viewing details of an item, completely losing your place.
