Apple today released tvOS 17.6.1, a minor update to the tvOS 17 operating system that came out last September. tvOS 17.6.1 comes a few weeks after Apple released tvOS 17.6.

tvOS 17.6.1 can be downloaded using the Settings app on the ‌Apple TV‌. Go to System > Software Update to get the new software. ‌Apple TV‌ owners who have automatic software updates activated will be upgraded to tvOS 17.6.1 automatically over time.

tvOS updates are often minor in scale, and tvOS 17.6.1 is no exception. We do not yet know what's included in the update.

Apple shares release notes for tvOS in its tvOS support document, which is updated after each new version of tvOS comes out.

Hmm..I have an issue that on the Music app it doesn‘t show Apple Music content. Says there‘s no connection, even though everything else on the Apple TV works…updated, didn‘t help with it..

This must be an important one.

I remember reading the Apple don’t push software updates automatically to customers until a while has passed, to allow Apple a period of built-in damage control if there’s something wrong with an update - i.e. only early adopters / people manually checking for updates would be affected.

In this case, I’ve just had the notification of new tvOS software being available while using my Apple TV, and the news was only recently posted to MR…

There doesn't seem to be a homepod update.

Yet homepod updates almost always come out the same time as tvos updates - even for betas - and they even have same build numbers

So this is one of the very few times there is a tvos update without corresponding homepod update.

I wonder if it fixes the weird behaviour where I keep getting signed out of my Apple ID every couple of days.
