Apple today released visionOS 2.5, the fifth update to the visionOS 2 operating system that came out in September. visionOS 2.5 comes a little over a month after the launch of visionOS 2.4.

visionOS 2.5 can be downloaded on all Vision Pro headsets by navigating to the Settings app, selecting the General section, and choosing the Software Update option.

With visionOS 2.5, Apple added a Vision tab to the Apple TV app to make it easier for users to find content created for the Vision Pro.
This release includes improvements and bug fixes, including a new Vision tab in the Apple TV app to easily discover and watch Apple Immersive Video and 3D movies available on Apple Vision Pro.
More on the features available in visionOS can be found in our visionOS roundup.

Says it all about the Vision Pro, really.
…Really? What kind of logic is that?

It’s an update FFS…

Regardless you don’t use a product like this caring how others use it being a prosumer device—that’s good advice in general.

You shouldn’t use things or have use for things to prove others wrong, but prove yourself right.

You think people buy 5090s, DSLRs, Mac Pros, prosumer monitors justifiably in the thousands such as the Pro Display XDR, and other prosumer hardware needing to care how noisy people are about its… updates? 💀

I’m of the opinion that is the logic that you should have graduated from after you moved on from middle school.

Philosophy from the likes John Rawls warn against such naivety attempting to map validity, legitimacy, and rightness from the masses many years ago.

I implore you to seek out teachings like that to have a broader and less naive thought process.

It still serves its purpose, on track of being years ahead, and has yet to be outclassed—let alone at a cheaper price—by other prosumer standalone headsets.

That’s relevant to prosumers and major tech cities that still give the device traction and use

I’m still on visionOS 2.4.1 and started seeing the vision tab in the Apple TV app a few days ago.

Do we truly need to post about minor updates without any new features?

Let’s discuss again at version 3.0, which hopefully includes some actual features.

Wow, this should have been available 2 years ago!

Just goes to show the Vision Pro is dead in the water & clearly the worst performing product Apple has ever released.

Apple should have released a fully baked product at the time. Too expensive, too heavy, too big,..where are are all the developers & why isn't Apple investing more in software & VR experiences. They bought a VR company that specialises in entertainment & Sports events & yet nothing.

I disagree. I know I am in the minority, but I use Vision Pro for about 1-2 hours a day, paired with my Mac, without the light seals. The future of Vision OS isn't in fully immersive content but in augmented content with the Mac. Editing in Davinci Resolve or with Premiere Pro on the equivalent of a 65" widescreen monitor is unreal. And I can see where Apple is going with this. I hope they keep working on it until it is fully realized on a pair of lightweight glasses.

I really like AVP. The only bad thing about the product is the price, which for all its parts may not be too overpriced. This is a transitional product and it will be much better with a few more iterations.

There seems to be a person in every Vision Pro related thread posting something along those lines. What motivates someone to post that?

Facts…just read the other comments above. I’m not making this stuff up. An Apple Store, as mentioned above, has just sold 1 since the new year.

Anecdotal and unsubstantial being “trust me bro” statements on the internet given too much weight in an article not even about sales and reception being about software updates.

Also being a prosumer product it’s again not a profit for most people nor is intended to pursue mainstream sales as a success metric.

What purpose is bean counting its sales or making random remarks about that in an article primarily for existing users being about updated functionality only relevant for those with the product or considering it?

U do realize that Tim Cook is the ultimate bean counter? The dude is always about gross margin and has been resting on the laurels of Steve Jobs for over a decade.

You are motivated to post these "facts" on every thread? Why?

I use Vision Pro daily, liking it more and more now now that the expectations and features are getting closer to each other. No-one outside Apple really knows the "facts" on its commercial success or lack of it.

I would love to see Apple succeed getting mainstream traction with a subsequent Vision Pro release — the technology foundation is simply amazing. How about you?

lol….”every thread”….u making stuff up now? U can check my post history. I don’t post on every thread here. I’m hardly active with maybe a comment or 2 once a month…

Apple Vision Pro isn’t dead. I mean… sure, you interact with virtual floating windows like Minority Report and might see a future death, but that’s just the precogs messing with you. This tech is absolutely mind-blowing. Pairs with my Mac for work. Plays my spatial videos so I can freaking time travel to the past. Transports me to my personal IMAX theater for hyper-realistic experiences. It is hands down the most impressive tech I’ve ever owned. And this first attempt will later be the worst version of the product as the platform evolves. But yeah, they did make the iPad thinner, too so that’s cool I guess.

I disagree. It’s a great product. It’s completely changed how I operate. I almost completely replaced my 3, 4k monitor set up. Would clear my desk altogether if it weren’t for the need to use my monitors for on-camera client meetings.

I use it daily for work - 6+ hours a day as my external monitor form my MBP, with native apps for more real estate - slack, mail, messages, etc.

In my free time, I use it for creative writing - being able to push out the real world and immerse has had led to a huge creativity boost.

It’s changed the game for flights and working from hotels (which I do often for work).

In so many reviews I see folks hating on it for being too expensive for watching shows on. I agree with that. But you really can’t beat the AVP as a productivity machine.
