Apple today released visionOS 2.5, the fifth update to the visionOS 2 operating system that came out in September. visionOS 2.5 comes a little over a month after the launch of visionOS 2.4.

visionOS 2.5 can be downloaded on all Vision Pro headsets by navigating to the Settings app, selecting the General section, and choosing the Software Update option.

With visionOS 2.5, Apple added a Vision tab to the Apple TV app to make it easier for users to find content created for the Vision Pro.
This release includes improvements and bug fixes, including a new Vision tab in the Apple TV app to easily discover and watch Apple Immersive Video and 3D movies available on Apple Vision Pro.
More on the features available in visionOS can be found in our visionOS roundup.

Says it all about the Vision Pro, really.
…Really? What kind of logic is that?

It’s an update FFS…

Regardless you don’t use a product like this caring how others use it being a prosumer device—that’s good advice in general.

You shouldn’t use things or have use for things to prove others wrong, but prove yourself right.

You think people buy 5090s, DSLRs, Mac Pros, prosumer monitors justifiably in the thousands such as the Pro Display XDR, and other prosumer hardware needing to care how noisy people are about its… updates? 💀

I’m of the opinion that is the logic that you should have graduated from after you moved on from middle school.

Philosophy from the likes John Rawls warn against such naivety attempting to map validity, legitimacy, and rightness from the masses many years ago.

I implore you to seek out teachings like that to have a broader and less naive thought process.

The product is dead…it was nothing more than a short lived and expensive marketing play…
It still serves its purpose, on track of being years ahead, and has yet to be outclassed—let alone at a cheaper price—by other prosumer standalone headsets.

That’s relevant to prosumers and major tech cities that still give the device traction and use

Do we truly need to post about minor updates without any new features?

Let’s discuss again at version 3.0, which hopefully includes some actual features.

Wow, this should have been available 2 years ago!

Just goes to show the Vision Pro is dead in the water & clearly the worst performing product Apple has ever released.

Apple should have released a fully baked product at the time. Too expensive, too heavy, too big,..where are are all the developers & why isn't Apple investing more in software & VR experiences. They bought a VR company that specialises in entertainment & Sports events & yet nothing.

I disagree. I know I am in the minority, but I use Vision Pro for about 1-2 hours a day, paired with my Mac, without the light seals. The future of Vision OS isn't in fully immersive content but in augmented content with the Mac. Editing in Davinci Resolve or with Premiere Pro on the equivalent of a 65" widescreen monitor is unreal. And I can see where Apple is going with this. I hope they keep working on it until it is fully realized on a pair of lightweight glasses.

I really like AVP. The only bad thing about the product is the price, which for all its parts may not be too overpriced. This is a transitional product and it will be much better with a few more iterations.
