Apple today released watchOS 10.6.1, a minor update to the watchOS 10 operating system that came out in September. watchOS 10.6.1 comes three weeks after watchOS 10.6, which was another bug fix update.

‌‌watchOS 10‌‌‌.6.1 can be downloaded for free through the Apple Watch app on an iPhone running iOS 17 or later by opening it up and going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery and it needs to be placed on a charger.

According to Apple's release notes, the watchOS 10.6.1 update fixes an issue that could prevent access to the Apple Fitness+ service.

Installed the first and another update. Now watch faces are not working anymore. If I jump into the App on the phone and try "my watch faces" and then trying configure, nothing happens anymore. I also have some shortcut automation, so the watch faces should change every now and then during the day. Not working anymore.

Is anyone running into the same issues? Thank you

I got this message with a fix for Fitness+ when trying to update my iPad Pro via macOS to the second version of iOS 17.6.1, strange... Also the download did not work, was always interrupting in the first quarter. And there isn't even an OTA update.

Anyone having update challenges today? Both my Apple Watches are throwing an error. They are connected to the Internet just fine. iPhone 15 PM is on 17.6.1 (re-release)... both watches currently on 10.6.

I am having the exact same problem. Same phone as you, same iOS version. I think 17.6.1 broke something in the watch updater. Anybody else having the issue?

Don't think it's 17.6.1. I tried shutting off my phone and checking for updates directly on the watch and it was still throwing the same error.

I'm having that same problem. I restarted both my phone and my watch. Still doesn't work.

Apparently this has happened before and there are a couple of workaround attempts which used to work for some in the past (hard resetting watch + iPhone, etc). However these don’t work for me at all.

Update: a router reset did the trick.
