Apple today released watchOS 11.2, the second major update to the operating system that runs on the Apple Watch. watchOS 11.2 comes more than a month after Apple released watchOS 11.1. watchOS 11.2 is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 6 and later, all Apple Watch Ultra models, and the Apple Watch SE 2.

watchOS 11.2 can be downloaded on an iPhone running iOS 18.2 by opening up the Apple Watch app and going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery and it needs to be placed on a charger.

According to Apple's release notes, watchOS 11.2 lets you pause video that you're recording on the iPhone using the Camera Remote app on Apple Watch. Apple's full notes are below.
This update includes improvements for your Apple Watch, including:

- Tides app expands map support for tidal conditions and coastal locations in China
- Camera Remote app can pause recording of iPhone video

Must be a lot of people downloading it. Fiber internet and still says 35 minutes to download

I hope performance improved further on older Apple Watch models. watchOS 11 slowed my Apple Watch 8 down to a crawl, and while 11.1 improved the situtation, it's still nowhere near as snappy as watchOS 10 was.
It's not just with watch 8, watch 9 same issue

Very strange because my series 6 is great

Apple has peaked with the Watch. The updates are so minimal now. No new watch faces, no new features, just bug fixes all the time. I love the Apple Watch but man they seem just stuck.
Yes. I’d like to see more customisable watch faces and for them not to delete my favourite watch faces with the software updates….

I have the AWU2, and I think I'm going to keep with 11.x and not go to 12 for as long as I can for the exact reason you're stating, and for the countless times on my otehr watches I regretted updating because of the loss of performance and especially battery life.

Anyone updated to 11.2 on their Watch Series 10 46mm"? Any noticeable issues or should I wait until mid January to upgrade?
