Apple today released watchOS 26.0.2, visionOS 26.0.1, and tvOS 26.0.1, the first updates to the watchOS 26, visionOS 26, and tvOS 26 updates that came out earlier in September.

The new software can be downloaded on each device by going to the Software Update section of the Settings app. There's also a new HomePod Software 26.0.1 update. Note that watchOS is 26.0.2 because there was a watchOS 26.0.1 update designed to add Messages and Find My support to the Apple Watch Ultra 3 in Mexico.

According to Apple's release notes, the software provides bug fixes and important security updates. tvOS 26.0.1 also addresses an issue that could cause audio to be out of sync on certain video streaming apps.

Is anyone else's Series 11 getting an update for 26.0.2?

EDIT: Apparently .0.1 was a release day update

My Ultra Watch 3 won’t connect to my 17 Pro Max after the update. The phone says it’s connected but the watch is only showing a WiFi connection.

ETA: Never mind, after rebooting both devices it eventually connected.

I hope it fixes the annoying bug that my AWU 2 displays no sender and no subject for all emails received before the update to watchOS 26.

The staccato issues that started way back with iOS 18 have not been resolved yet on my Apple TV HD with tvOS 26.0.1

I'm still on 26.0.0 and just getting Checking for Update after updating my phone to 26.0.1
Me too! I have a Series 11 cellular model with plan enabled.

First I see "Checking for Update" with the spinning lines.

Then eventually I see
"Could not Connect to Apple Watch
Make sure your Apple Watch is nearby, powered on, and not in Airplane Mode."

Reproduced that 4 times. My watch is 1 foot away.

I just updated my good ol' SE to 26 and I'm... confused. It looks so jarring. The glass effects are cool to see on a watch, but they're kind of all over the place (and I don't mean the entire UI). It just doesn't look as slick as it does on the phone. Maybe it'll get better over time?

Odd. I can't make either of my Series 11's take the 26.0.2 update.
On my iPhone, I see says "Checking for Update..." for several minutes, then [ see pic ]
"Couldn't connect to Apple Watch"

The Watch absolutely does show as connected (to a iPhone 17 Pro Max @ 26.0.1)
Though with a different face than the Watch is actually wearing.

@jz0309 , If I try to update completely from my Watch, a message pops up
"To install the Apple Watch update, view and accept the terms on. your iPhone". But the terms screen never appears on my iPhone to accept.

Any suggestions?

Have you rebooted both watch and phone?

Updated my Apple Watch to 26.0.2 yesterday and a full charge is now only getting me half way through the day. Anyone else experienced this?

Have you rebooted both watch and phone?
Yes. Several times.

Each watch would spend many hours at “verifying…” status during the update.

What eventually worked:
1 - unpair Watch from my iPhone 17 Pro Max that I had INSTALLED AS NEW specifically to minimize odds of any old, unneeded app or setting causing errors.
2 - from the watch: Settings , General, Erase and reset watch, keeping celllular plan
3 - force reset phone
4 - install 26.0.2 to the watch
5 - wait 6 hours or overnight for "Verifying..." to finish

Several times (at least 2 or 3 on each!) of attempting 1-5 on each watch eventually worked. This 26.0.2 Watch update took from Monday through Thursday of constant babysitting to complete for 2 watches.

6 - THEN the (cellular) watches still could NOT make phone calls. At this point I finally decided to simply return them.
My last ditch thought - call AT&T. Lucked into a very thoughtful agent! The agent said that he disconnected and reconnected each phone number to my watch.

Now I can make phone calls with each watch.
