Apple today released watchOS 6.1.2, the fourth update to the watchOS 6 operating system designed to run on modern Apple Watch models. watchOS 6.1.2 comes more than a month after the release of watchOS 6.1.1.

???watchOS 6???.1.2 can be downloaded for free through the dedicated ???Apple Watch??? app on the iPhone by going to General > Software Update.

To install the new software, the ???Apple Watch??? needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it needs to be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the ??iPhone??.

There were no new features found during the watchOS 6.1.2 beta testing period, and according to Apple's release notes, the update "provides important security updates and is recommended for all users."

For more detail on the features included in the overall ?watchOS 6? software release, make sure to check out our watchOS 6 roundup.

I hope I can install this.

I haven't worn my AW for over 3 months until this week and it won't update to 6.1.1 (my iPhone keeps giving me an error).

I had to actually start from scratch on both my AW4 and my iPhone 11 Pro just to get th thing to sync when I bought the phone in Nov. Now I'm having issues again.....

Hopefully this helps with battery life. It’s been horrendous on my Series 4 since watch OS 6.
100% same experience. I’ve gone as far as turning every notification off and as much options as I can. I just leave text and a few essentials enabled but it’s just terrible.
Same here. Usually I don't notice battery drain after updates as much as others report, but I'm clearly noticing an extreme difference. I'm talking going from 55%+ by the end of a long day to 10% remaining. I keep checking my watch display to see if it is stuck or if winter long sleeves are activating it more frequently.

Can I sync more than 1020 songs from my iPhone yet? Currently it gets stuck there forever.

I have 1225 songs on my iPhone. Didn’t realize it was even an issue.

Disregard. Lost my place. Thought this was about iPhone syncing only.

Literally the same. I’ve never noticed significant difference between OS updates but with 6 it’s been crazy. I used to be able to get always 2 days sometimes 3 or a little more on a charge. Now I barely make the day

So weird how some people have battery drain and some don't. My Series 4 on 6 lasts for about a day and a half before it needs charged

same here. Although strangely it seems to drain faster when it isn't on my wrist as opposed to when it is. Which doesn't make any sense to me. In theory it shouldn't drain at all when not being worn.

Me 4 or am I 5... I was ok until watchOS 6 came out...

Did you actually verify that all 1225 songs are on the Watch? General / About / Songs

Regarding battery life, I don't know what you guys are on, my Watch 5 easily goes through 2 days. No kidding. I also go for a half-marathon every week without my phone, that means about 2.5 hours of workout (GPS + HR) + BT music playback, then I indeed have to charge by the end of the day, but even then, it sits around 10-20% still.

The only trick is that I don't install any apps. Why would I bother, my phone is usually within BT distance, so notifications are synced anyway. I have only 2 apps installed, BMW Connected Drive (which I don't use anyway because LTE is dead in my car for whatever reason) and Smart Life for quickly turning the lights on and off from my Watch. That's it. No friggin' constantly running in the background, battery draining cr@p.

Oopsie my bad big time. Lost track of where I was posting. I thought they were having issues syncing songs to their iPhone.

Battery life continues to be terrible - same symptoms as before the upgrade - healthd on the watch is using a ton of CPU seemingly at random - clearly not fixed

Same here. I recently changed from a S0 to a 2nd hand S4 and the battery life is amazing. 2 days.
I charge mine every night and occasionally wear it sleeping to make sure I'm sleeping ok.
Can't fault the battery life.
Can fault the Music App which is buggy as hell. Fingers crossed 6.1.2 fixes that.

Is updating the software harder than it should be? I have a series 3 and a 5. Seems very difficult to get them to both update. Confused? And when you start it on the phone shouldn’t it tell you check an option on the watch or it just sits there forever?

just seems very klugey way to work. Wish it would update over WiFi without needing phone interaction

same here! I charge my watch every other day; maybe every 3 days sometimes. Ater a whole day working an 8-hour shift and going to the gym my series 4 battery goes from 100 to about 75. After 24 hours it’ll go to about 55 or 50. Battery life on the Apple Watch is super awesome for me. I should also mention that I turn my watch off overnight, every day. Not sure if that has something to do with it.

Something seems wrong then. While I'll be first to admit that v6.0.0 was pretty disappointing on my Series 5, it's been great since v6.0.1 -- basically same as version 5.x was. Haven't had a chance to install 6.1.2 yet.
