Apple today released watchOS 6.2.6, the ninth update to the watchOS 6 operating system that's designed to run on modern Apple Watch models. watchOS 6.2.6 comes a little over a week after the launch of watchOS 6.2.5, an update that introduced new Pride Apple Watch faces.

watchOS 6.2.6 can be downloaded for free through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it needs to be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the iPhone.

According to Apple's release notes, the watchOS 6.2.6 update includes unspecified security fixes and should be installed by all Apple Watch owners with a compatible model.

It might be placebo, but my app layout screen looks a lot more smushed since installing this update. Almost like I have a 38mm layout on my 42mm watch.

EDIT: After a restart it's showing up normally again. :)

I think they have been rolling all the dev updates out in phases lately. Got the ios, but not the watch yet.

Hopefully my Sister will be able to install this one on her Apple Watch 3. She’s tried and failed to install 6.2.5 numerous times, and so have I. We’ve tried unpairing & re-pairing both with and without restoring the latest backup (and even with restoring the one before that), deleting and re-downloading the update from the watch, and so on. I’ve even tried installing her watch as a new one on my Apple ID and then installing the update, which failed as well. My own watch, which is a Gen 4, installed WatchOS 6.2.5 just fine. Does anyone around here know of an issue with 6.2.5 combined with a Gen 3 watch? If so, hopefully it’ll be resolved come 6.2.6…
The thing is that we can’t contact Apple Support and claim warranty, because the Watch is well over and has a damaged screen...

Hopefully this means the rainbow non pride themes for watch faces actually work now

I am usually never complaining about battery drain, but with 6.2.5 I hat a noticeable higher drain. Hope, 6.2.6 helps...

I have also had many troubles recently with running out of storage (even though I wiped the watch last week and haven't installed anything).

Apparently a watch reboot gave me back the space I needed and I could install this latest update. Hopefully this problem is well behind me now.

Just updated my phone to 13.5.1 and watch to 6.2.6 and battery life on my Apple Watch is absolutely horrible. 30% drop after only 4 hours of use today with no background apps or workouts running on my Series 4.

Before latest update, I could wear my watch all day with multiple workouts and a round of golf and various apps running and never dip below 70% by 8 or 9pm.

Starting to regret updating if this is how quickly the battery is going to be draining!
