Apple Remote Access Help

I am currently using apple remote access 3 over a dial up connection that directly dials another computer. I was wondering if it is possible to use this software over a high speed internet connection or if there is any other software that would allow for this. Both systems are currently running Mac OS 9. Any help would be great.
