Apple Remote App Problem PLEASE HELP!

I have recently bought a dock for my iPod Touch 2G, for the sole purpose of displaying the currently playing song from my MacBook Pro's iTunes. However, I have one major problem, the Remote app, from Apple, doesn't work. If I play a song from my Library from the Mac, it will display correctly on the iPod's screen, however, the problem occurs, when the song changes after the previous one has ended, where the iPod just hangs on the very end of the song, and doesn't change to the current one playing. Anyone got any tips on how to fix this? FYI, I am running Lion 10.7.1, iTunes 10.4.1, Remote 2.1.1 and iOS 4.2.1.

I have so far tried:
Removing the App from my iPod and reinstalling it.
