Couldn't find anything related to this, but I was wondering if anyone knows if the Apple Remote that ships with the new iMacs can be configured to work in other applications. I know it works in some of the Apple apps like iTunes and DVD Player (separate from front row), but I was wondering if it can be configured at all to work with 3rd party apps like EyeTV, etc. Thanks to anyone with info!

as far as i've heard from friends with new imacs, there aren't any third-party apps that natively support the apple remote. sounds like something you'd have to either patch/hack. as far as i'm concerned, unless you're using the computer for a media center or something, the inclusion of front row and the remote seems somewhat unnecessary. if for no better reason than the fact that its support doesn't seem to be all that universal.
