can apple remote desktop 3 allow me to distribute software updates to client machines with the one download?

Eg, download software update to one machine, and distribute to all?

I'm guessing I would have to download the software update manually and then distribute to clients...

You can, but it would be more time efficient to set the client machines to auto update.

The way I do it is I send the update file to all the computers through ARD 3 and then I touch each machine to update the file.

There may be another way, but I don't have great expierences with ARD in general so I don't take my chances.

small data quota means easily exceeded with software updates.

need a central update system of some sorts...
