Hi.

I have been using Apple Remote Desktop which is a great piece of software. However, I would love to be able to access the built in camera’s on our iMac’s without the user knowing they are being watched. I know this sounds a bit creepy but it would be really useful to monitor what is happening in our computer rooms at Uni.

Does anyone know if this can be done? Is there a third party software that will do it?

May be in Version 4 perhaps.
:)

There's probably not a way of doing it without the person knowing, unless you open the program and hide it. But even then, the iSight light will still be on and they can always walk up and close the program.

If you do manage to achieve this it won't be long before it is common knowledge and the first this people will do is stick a piece of tape over the iSight. :)
