I have been using ARD for some time now to admin 8 macs. 4 on my network and 4 of friends and family when they need help.

I have been doing work for a local small business and of course they are running Dell's w/ XP.

I was wondering if I can use ARD to admin their systems as well or do I have to use straight up VNC? Just wondering.

Apple Remote Desktop uses a different communication method to talk with Macs than what the Remote Desktop Protocol that is used to talk to Windows boxes. As a result, you can't use ARD to administrate their systems. You could put in a request to Apple to also support RDP so that you could admin your Windows boxes. I'm not sure if there are third-party apps that support both ARD for Macs and RDP for Windows.
