I have Apple Remote Desktop on my computer (Computer 1 - a 2009 MBP) to connect to my mother's computer overseas (Computer 2 - another 2009 MBP). I then bought a new computer on eBay (Computer 3 - a 2009 MB delivered to my mother, so that Computer 2 and 3 are in the same location), and I wanted to do some diagnostics to make sure the computer was okay.

Since ports for ARD could only be forwarded to one local IP, I gave Computer 2's local IP to Computer 3, allowing me to control it from Computer 1. Everything was fine, and I could control it normally.

But now I wanted the ability to control either of these computers without having to adjust any router settings. So I got my mother to buy another copy of ARD for Computer 3, so that Computer 2 could be controlled within the local network via Computer 3 via me on Computer 1. In other words, I would be controlling a computer within a controlled computer.

I did the install of ARD on Computer 3 remotely from Computer 1. Once the install finished, I was asked to restart. I assumed that after the restart I would regain control of Computer 3, but that never happened. I can no longer connect to Computer 3 at all.

Anybody have any idea what happened? Thanks.
