Just a quick question...

Can you use apple remote desktop over the net when not on a network?

Example:

My mum is new to mac and has a Macbook but I dont live with her. I would like to use remote desktop to control her computer and show her what to do from my mac. Is this possible?

Cheers

There's a guide here at MR too that is designed to do this, based on the same method submiteed by beaster, but cleaned up a bit, so it is semi-complicated too.

Nuts! That looks more complicated than I thought it would be... thanks though balamw and TheBB!!! Those guides are awesome. I might need to get some outside help though in setting this up.

I would be in control of it, to help show my mum things remotely from my house in Portsmouth. I'm going to be setting up her wireless connection this week sometimes with a Belkin N1 Router. The IP address thing is a good point though. I'll have a look into that.

Thanks all!!!
